The panel will be discussing critical areas of contract administration including optimisation opportunities and common pitfalls to avoid, as well as the latest trends in dispute management and avoidance. Finally, each of the speakers will provide a key take-away, or mantra to live by, as a user of FIDIC.
- Managing Claims Under FIDIC Forms of Contract
A comprehensive session discussing how to minimise claims and, if the claims are disagreed, how to avoid contested claims from becoming disputes. Speakers will focus on claims and procurement, the different approaches to claim quantification in Civil and Common Law, the requirements for notices of claim, and much more besides. This will be of essential attendance for all those involved in projects underpinned by FIDIC forms of contract.
- DAABs' Role Under FIDIC Conditions - Current Practices & The New Rules
Along with the review and update of the iconic Rainbow Suite, FIDIC have reviewed and updated their Dispute Adjudication Rules with a view to reflect current best practice for Dispute Boards. Included in the discussion will be an overview of the reformulation of the current 20 clauses of the FIDIC contracts, with a new Clause 21 dedicated to dispute avoidance and resolution and the tools and techniques offered in the New Dispute Avoidance / Adjudication Board (“DAAB”) Procedural Rules.
