Roberto has acted as Dispute Board in Latin American projects for approximately 15 years. His experience extends to more than 30 contracts in 6 countries in the region: Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina. Contract models include: FIDIC, NEC and bespoke in private and governmental projects, with the participation of multilateral banks (MCA Corporation) and Interamerican Development Bank. Projects sectors where Roberto has participated as Dispute Boards include but are not limited to: airports, highways, transmission lines, power stations, hospital, professional sport facilities, water plants, and others. He is a FIDIC certified adjudicator and a FIDIC certified trainer. He also acts as an arbitrator under ICC, ICSID, ICDR and LCIA rules. He is a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and a fellow of the International Academy of Construction lawyers. He has written several books on Construction law, dispute Boards and others. In 2023 he received by FIDIC, the award of “Adjudicator of the year” in the category of “Highly commended”.
