Short summary experiences
My role as dispute board chair and single dispute board member on both standing and ad hoc boards has required a number of skills beyond simply knowing the law or the contract. Gaining the trust of both parties is key to the board starting off on the right foot and being accepted by both parties. This requires flexibility; being willing to listen and being firm when needed.Working well with other board members is essential . I work very hard at this I have been on many site visits; held meetings on and off site; run hearings.I am very experienced in FIDIC ; NEC; JCT and ICC as well as a huge number of bespoke contacts
