Three key FIDIC awards are now open for entries, giving member associations, global infrastructure projects and future leaders the chance to shine and gain recognition for excellence.

Entries are now invited for the MA Excellence Awards, Project Awards and Future Leaders Awards with the winners to be announced at this year’s FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference which takes place in Geneva as an in-person event from 11-13 September 2022.

The FIDIC MA Excellence Awards recognise, reward and highlight the achievements and successes of FIDIC’s international member associations. The awards, which recognise the work that MAs do representing the global consulting engineering industry, have a number of different categories to enter to give member associations of all sizes and scale the opportunity to win.

Award categories include Best advancement of a Cause, Advocacy Campaign or Event, Best Publication or Website, Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative and Member Association Achievement of the Year (small/medium/large). These categories and the entry requirements have been refined following feedback from members and input from FIDIC’s directors and secretaries’ advisory group and entries are welcome from any of FIDIC’s 102 global member associations.

FIDIC’s flagship Project Awards are always highly prized and the awards ceremony this year will be a key part of the gala dinner event at the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference. Promoting the FIDIC principles of quality, integrity and sustainability, these awards celebrate outstanding projects where FIDIC’s MA member firms have had a major involvement. The awards help to publicise the work of consulting engineering firms and the contribution they make to the quality of life, highlight, promote and support FIDIC principles and encourage the use of FIDIC contracts and guidelines. The awards also support the wider aims of the federation which are to promote the use of international FIDIC best practices and resources.

Projects around the world can be nominated, demonstrating outstanding engineering capabilities. Mega-projects, international, national, or local projects of all sizes will be considered by an eminent judging panel comprising nine past presidents of FIDIC. The judges will consider large- or small-scale projects for an Award of Excellence and Project Award nominations are open to firms that are members of FIDIC member associations, associate or affiliate members that have provided consulting engineering and project management services on projects of all types and all sizes.

The FIDIC Future Leaders Awards acknowledge and promote the outstanding achievements of future leaders in the consulting engineering industry worldwide and encourage effective participation of future leaders in FIDIC. The FIDIC Future Leaders Council, which plays a key role in these awards, is comprised of young professionals within FIDIC’s member associations and was originally formed to provide emerging professionals in the consulting engineering industry opportunities to participate in FIDIC with peers and to develop the next generation of leaders of FIDIC and the industry.

Entering the awards couldn’t be easier, with an easy-to-follow, step-by-step online submission process. Entrants can save their entry and return to it to complete later making the process straightforward and more user-friendly than ever before. The closing dates for submitting entries to all the above awards is 15 May 2022.
