In just over two months’ time, FIDIC will bring the engineering, construction and infrastructure sector together in Geneva, Switzerland at its flagship event of the year – the 2024 FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference.

Taking place at Geneva’s President Wilson Hotel from 8-10 September 2024, the conference will see representatives of the global engineering, construction and infrastructure sector gathering to discuss the key issues and opportunities facing the industry. Since FIDIC last met at its annual gathering in Singapore last year, global markets have seen a shift towards cooling interest rate rises, slowing inflation and an increasing focus on bolstering growth, something the infrastructure sector is well placed to help deliver.

FIDIC has unveiled the expert lineup of world-renowned industry specialists who will be taking the stage at the event in Geneva to discuss the conference theme Transforming lives with infrastructure - Investing in and building a better world for all. Sessions at the conference are focused on unravelling the latest trends, groundbreaking developments and visionary insights in the ever-evolving field of infrastructure. From industry leaders to influential organisations, the speakers are key influencers in their respective fields and will be delivering thought-provoking insights during the conference.

Some of the leading organisations represented by the expert lineup of speakers include:

  • Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport.
  • American Council of Engineering Companies.
  • ARTELIA, France.
  • Aurecon, Australia.
  • Autodesk, USA.
  • Bentley Systems, USA.

  • United Nations, Geneva.
  • WSP Global Inc, UK.
  • 2050Today, Geneva.

Sessions at the conference will cover the key issues and challenges facing the industry including the transformational role of infrastructure in building a better world, de-risking and leveraging infrastructure investment, the specific challenges of emerging markets and developing economies, influencing governments and persuading politicians, the decarbonisation challenge and the role of leadership in creating a more effective and successful industry.

The two-day conference will also include a special session showcasing world-class groundbreaking construction and infrastructure projects from around the globe that highlights how, through their ingenuity, engineers are making a difference and helping to build a better world. Projects featured will be drawn from all of FIDIC’s global regions – Europe, South America, Africa, Middle East, China and North America. This special must-attend session will highlight key, world-leading projects that have made or are making a positive difference through those who have been involved in the projects and those who benefit from them.

FIDIC president Catherine Karakatsanis said that the conference promised to be a highlight of the industry’s calendar and urged global infrastructure professionals to register for the event. “I’m really excited by the programme and the speakers that we are bringing together for this conference. It’s not that often that we have the opportunity to come together as a global industry and our 2024 FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference is one of those occasions when I hope that we can do just that to discuss and deliberate on the issues that matter to our sector and to map out workable solutions to the key challenges that we all face. All those working in the engineering, construction and infrastructure sector should sign up for the event and I hope to see a global galaxy of talent in Geneva this coming September.”

The speaker list for the conference programme will be added to over the coming weeks. To stay updated on developments, to explore the full lineup of speakers and to reserve your place at the conference, make sure you visit the conference website linked below.
