FIDIC is an event partner and has a speaker at an important in-person event taking place during London Climate Action Week on building infrastructure resilience.

The event, Multi-Sectoral Perspectives on Adapting National Infrastructure Systems, which takes place at the offices of Bentley Systems in London on Thursday 26 June 2025 at 3pm UK time, sees FIDIC teaming up with other event partners the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). Attendees at the session will hear from leading voices in infrastructure resilience as they explore how national infrastructure systems can better withstand disasters, adapt to changing risks and serve communities when they need it most.

As the impacts of disasters and climate change continue to escalate, there is an urgent global need to assess how national infrastructure systems can absorb, respond to and recover from such events, as well as adapt to an evolving risk landscape. Panellists at the event will discuss best practices in infrastructure resilience under key themes of Risk Assessment, Governance, Finance, Technology and Nature-based Infrastructure Solutions.

The themes of the event align with the anticipated second edition of CDRI’s Report on Global Infrastructure Resilience, which is becoming a vital resource for policymakers, practitioners and researchers worldwide.

The line-up of expert speakers includes: -

  • Nikki Van Dijk, Technical Director - Climate Resilience, Mott MacDonald.
  • Alexandre Chavarot, 2025 Global Resilience Report Author - Finance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
  • Rodrigo Fernandes, Director of ES(D)G, Bentley Systems.
  • Kaitlin Shilling, Global Leader for Resilience and Adaptation, Arup.
  • Robert Spencer, Vice Chair, FIDIC Sustainable Development Committee and ESG Advisory Lead, AECOM.
  • Raffaele Della Croce, Co-Director, Singapore Green Finance Centre, Advanced Research Fellow, Imperial Business School.
  • Event Moderator: Savina Carluccio, Executive Director, International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure.

Given the excellent line-up of speakers, the event is set to be packed with insights and observations on how best to accelerate the innovation, adoption and scaling of people-centred, sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions that support sustainable development for all.
