FIDIC 2026+ Strategy

After 113 years, FIDIC is writing its next chapter. With global authority in contracts, training, certification and advocacy, its member associations remain the backbone of the organisation - advancing engineering, shaping governance and promoting the sector’s value to society.

FIDIC faces the same pressures as many membership bodies: rising costs, retention challenges, revenue diversification and skills shortages. The industry itself also contends with commoditisation, inequitable procurement, corruption and resource limitations.

These are intensified by global imperatives - achieving the SDGs, delivering net zero by 2050 and closing a $64 trillion infrastructure investment gap.

The future will bring further disruption. AI and digital change will reshape the profession. Economic and geopolitical shifts will test resilience. Natural resources will need careful management.

To meet these demands, FIDIC will evolve - maximising resources, driving digital transformation, recognising contributions, enhancing inclusivity and expanding membership. In doing so, it will remain a strong, future-ready voice for engineers, the sector and society.

This strategy will guide our thinking and resources for the next five years. Each year, we will produce an annual action plan that translates our goals and focus areas into our priorities and actions for the year.
