Rosalía Gil-Albarellos has assumed the presidency of Tecniberia, the Spanish Association of Engineering, Consulting and Technological Services Companies, making history as the first woman to hold the position in the organisation's 62-year history.

She was officially ratified as president during Tecniberia's annual meeting on 16 June 2026, taking over from Joan Franco. A forestry engineer with more than 30 years of sector experience, she currently serves as the director of water engineering and sustainability at Proes, part of the Grupo Amper. She is no stranger to the association as she previously served on Tecniberia's board of directors and chaired its environment commission, where she helped establish the Women in Engineering committee, championing the visibility of female talent in engineering.

Among the key priorities of her term, she highlighted defending the economic viability and profitability of member companies, reinforcing the association's presence and influence in key decision-making bodies and promoting artificial intelligence as a strategic tool to increase competitiveness, efficiency and value creation in the sector.

The annual meeting also acknowledged the work carried out by outgoing president Joan Franco during his four years at the head of the association. Franco also reaffirmed his commitment to defending the interests of engineering, consulting and technology services companies, promoting talent, fostering unity within the Spanish engineering sector and strengthening its competitiveness and international presence.
