FIDIC's Global Infrastructure Conference (GIC) returns this year to India and will be hosted in New Delhi from 13–15 September 2026 in collaboration with the Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI). FIDIC GIC26 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, financiers and engineers from over 100 countries under the theme "Engineering a Bright Future, Together: Quality Infrastructure for People and Prosperity."

As FIDIC's flagship annual event, GIC is more than a conference programme, it is that moment in the year in which FIDIC's global network of members, members associations and partners comes together to strategise, exchange and to celebrate our industry. Make sure you register on time for the following:

The Member Association Forum: Saturday 12 September

The forum will look at how Member Associations can help strengthen member value, support innovation, build industry capacity and show the contribution consulting engineers make around the world.

The consulting engineering sector is changing fast. Firms in many markets are dealing with growing complexity, pressure on margins, skills shortages, late payment, procurement models that undervalue intellectual services, new risks linked to AI and digitalisation, and higher expectations on sustainability, resilience and delivery.

At the same time, the need for consulting engineers has never been clearer. Governments, clients, investors and communities need sound advice, stronger delivery capacity, more resilient infrastructure and better long-term value from every investment.

The leading question for the day will be: How can consulting engineering firms create more value, be paid for that value, and strengthen their ability to lead in a changing global market?

The day is intended to be practical and useful for Member Associations and their membership.

Participants attending can expect the Forum to offer:

  • Market intelligence – hearing directly from FIDIC and fellow associations on trends, opportunities and challenges shaping the infrastructure and consulting engineering sector globally and regionally.
  • Peer learning – the chance to learn from how other member associations are tackling similar issues, from governance and member services to advocacy and capacity building.
  • Direct engagement with FIDIC – an opportunity to hear about FIDIC's priorities, initiatives and the broader direction of the federation.
  • Networking with peers – building relationships with counterparts from other national associations that continue well beyond the conference itself.

The Forum offers a chance to step back from day-to-day priorities and connect with a global peer network facing many of the same opportunities and pressures, while also feeding into FIDIC's collective direction as a federation.

Full agenda details will be shared directly with member associations ahead of the event. Registration is required to attend.

The FIDIC General Assembly Meeting: Sunday 13 September

Sunday 13 September marks another important moment of the membership programme at FIDIC's GIC26, with the FIDIC General Assembly Meeting (GAM) taking place as part of the pre-conference programme. The GAM is FIDIC's principal governance meeting, bringing together representatives of member associations to review accomplishments since the last GAM, approve the budget for 2027 and get insights into the federation's statutory and strategic business.

FIDIC encourages every member association to ensure their representatives are registered to attend and to make the most of this dedicated time together in New Delhi.
