The Mongolian National Construction Association (MNCA) will mark a significant milestone, 100 years of Mongolia's construction sector, with a national celebration at which FIDIC President Alfredo Ingletti will deliver a video address.
Ingletti extends FIDIC's congratulations to MNCA and to the Mongolian construction community, recognising a century of transformation that has seen Mongolia develop from a largely rural and nomadic society into a modern, urbanising nation with a construction sector capable of delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure.
"A century is a remarkable span in the life of any industry" "Behind every milestone in that century lies the work of engineers, contractors, planners and tradespeople who turned ambition into structure, and structure into national progress" comments Ingletti.
Mongolia's infrastructure achievements over the past 100 years, span from the growth of Ulaanbaatar and the development of mining and energy infrastructure to the expansion of roads, rail and utilities across the country.
The event will also mark an important milestone for the FIDIC community: the public launch of the printed Mongolian-language editions of the FIDIC Red Book and Silver Book, translated by MNCA. An achievement that is a testament to our members’ commitment.
"Contracts are only as useful as they are understood," Ingletti says. "By making these standard forms accessible in Mongolian, MNCA has opened the door for engineers, contractors, employers and lawyers across this country to use international best practice with confidence and clarity, in their own language."
